How fees work
Implant treatment has several stages. Here is how paying works, in the order most patients ask.
Insurance we work with
We are in network with some dental plans, and the practice lists them here. For any other plan we are out of network, and our itemized receipt lets you ask the plan to reimburse you. Dental plans often pay part of a crown or a denture and little toward an implant, so we tell you what your plan is likely to cover before treatment, and the plan makes the final decision. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

If you pay yourself
Implant treatment is billed in stages, as each step is done: the scan and plan, the surgery, then the teeth. You will see every stage and its fee in your written estimate before you agree to anything. Health savings and flexible spending cards work. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After each stage we give you an itemized receipt with the procedure codes. You can send it to a plan that reimburses out-of-network care. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists each stage of your case path, what we expect to do and the fee for each. It changes only if your scan or your healing shows something new, and we tell you before we go on.

Checking your benefits
Before your consult, send us your plan's name and we check what it lists for exams, scans and implant-related care. Call the number on your card with the procedure codes from our estimate and ask what it would pay. Our coordinator walks you through what we find, and what we can't know until the plan reviews the claim.

What the first visit includes
About ninety minutes: a talk about what you want, an exam, a 3D scan and a first look at it with Dr. Leung. You leave with a plan to consider and, if you ask, a written estimate. Fill in your health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

What an estimate is built from
The fee for each stage depends on your case. These are the things that change it.
How many implants
Your bone and the type of teeth decide it. The plan says the number.
Preparing the mouth
Removing a tooth, a bone graft or treating the gums adds a stage.
The final teeth
A single crown, a bridge or a denture each have their own fee and materials.
Request your written estimate
Ask when you schedule or at your consult. We write it down stage by stage.
