Missing several teeth? Start with a scan and a written plan.

Bell Road Dental is led by Dr. Shu Leung, a prosthodontist. Every case begins with a 3D scan and a case plan that says who places the implants, who makes the teeth, and what each step involves.

The case path

Five steps, in the order they happen

Most cases take several months from the first scan to the final teeth. Your written plan gives your own range and who does each step.

  1. Dr. Leung and Dr. Aksoy

    Consult and scan

A talk about what you want, an exam and a 3D scan of your mouth and jaw. Dr. Leung goes through the scan with you on the screen.

  2. Dr. Leung

    Plan

Dr. Leung writes your case plan: how many implants, where they go and what the final teeth will be. You get it in writing with an estimate, and you take it home.

  3. Placed by Dr. Leung

    Surgery

Dr. Leung places the implants. We numb the area first, and you can ask for a break at any time. The plan says what to expect afterward.

  4. Check visits

    Healing

The implants and the jaw need time to join before they carry full chewing load. Healing usually takes months, and a temporary tooth or denture is sometimes possible.

  5. Restored by Dr. Leung or Dr. Aksoy

    Restoration

A new scan, a check of your bite, then the final teeth. Dr. Leung makes bridges and dentures; Dr. Aksoy fits the crown on a single-tooth implant.

The scan room

The plan is made on the scan

A cone-beam scan shows your bone, your nerves and your sinuses in three dimensions. Dr. Leung plans where each implant goes on the screen, then shows you the plan before anything is done.

We take a scan when your plan needs it, and we tell you why.

What patients tell us

“I got the plan in writing a week before I decided. I had questions, and Dr. Leung went back to the scan to answer each one.”

Glenn H.Implant bridge

“I knew who would place the implants and who would make the teeth. Nobody was a stranger at my last visit.”

Rosa M.

“Slow, and I'm glad. Every stage had its own estimate, and nothing changed without a call first.”

Before you call

Do you take my dental plan?

We are in network with some plans and out of network with the rest; the list is on the How fees work page. Dental plans often pay part of a crown or a denture and little toward an implant. We check what your plan lists before treatment and give you a written estimate, so you know what we expect you to pay.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area before surgery, and you can ask for a break at any time. Some soreness and swelling for a few days is common afterward. Dr. Leung tells you what to expect and what to do, and we are a phone call away. We can't promise how any one person will feel.

How long does the whole process take?

Usually several months from the scan to the final teeth, and most of that is healing. Your written plan gives the range for your case, and it can change if your healing does.

Who places the implants, and who makes the teeth?

Dr. Leung plans every case and places the implants. She makes the final bridge or denture. Dr. Aksoy, a general dentist, fits the crown on a single-tooth implant after she places it. Dr. Booker, a general dentist, looks after your gums and your check-ups.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask when you schedule or at your consult, and we write it down stage by stage. You can take it home and decide.
